The Decatur County Parks and Recreation Department is offering Camp Rainbow at the Decatur County Park again this summer. 

Camp Rainbow is a three-week camp designed for children ages 6-17 with special needs in Decatur County.  The camp will begin on Monday, June 6 and will run through Friday, June 24, 2022.  Children are to arrive at the Decatur County Park at 9:30AM and are to be picked up by 2:00PM.

While there is no registration fee required for children to attend camp, they will be asked to pay $15.00 to help offset the cost of their meals purchased from local restaurants.  There will be days when campers will be asked to bring a sack lunch.  Notes pertaining to each day’s lunch plans will be on the calendar which will be sent to all campers prior to the start of camp.  Drinks and snacks will be provided by the camp.  Due to the generosity of the Decatur County Community Foundation, field trips and camp-t-shirts will be provided to the campers at no charge.  We truly appreciate their continued support of our camp!

Scheduled activities include organized games, arts & crafts and swimming at the Allen Memorial Swimming Pool.  We will also have several outside groups coming to camp providing a variety of fun activities.  Two day trips are being planned to destinations yet to be decided.

Stacie Reisman will be returning as our camp director this year.  Stacie is a graduate of Ball State University with a license in Elementary Education and Special Education.  She is employed by the Greensburg Community School Corporation and currently works at the Greensburg Junior High School in the area of special education.  She will be assisted by four to six counselors.

Due to a limited enrollment, registration forms should be turned in or mailed to the Decatur County Parks and Recreation Department, 402 E. North Street, Greensburg, In. 47240 as early as possible.
